Birthday Fun!

For my Birthday today I dragged Kyanna to a pedicure, where we both got our feet pampered. I went with a French Pedicure and Kyanna went with a fantastic sparkly purple with awesome flowers on her big toes...which I might add makes my French look a little boring. Kyanna suggested that we go to the new Build-A-Bear store that opened up in the shopping mall...a little self serving ....yes but it was SO fun, they go out of their way to make it special for the kids. Below are some pics!

Kyanna's wonderful toes beside my boring French..LOL

Kyanna lovin her new bear "Kia" ...who I might add now shares my birthday!

A close up of "Kia"..yes she got clothes too..it's like a mini wal-mart for bears in there.

A close up of Kyana's toes....arn't they wonderful!!

XHuron

Steve just got home today after being gone for 2 weeks on an exercise called "Trident Fury" with the CDN and US Navy. They sunk an old Canadian Naval Ship called the HMCS Huron (now called the XHuron). Below are some pictures he sent me of the ship sinking. To make them larger you can double click on them.

I'm SO bragging!

So one of the Doc's I work for has been coming up to me for the past 3 weeks telling me that we should have a "meeting" soon and "chat" about any concerns either of us may have. Then he actually went out of his way to make sure this meeting was scheduled and then bumped it up because he wanted it sooner. OMG!!! I was totally stressing... I SO thought I was getting fired for the first time in my life.
We had our "meeting " today and both Doc's told me they really ....really like having me work for them...suprised?....me too...ok not really.... come on I DO have dimples...no not the ones on my butt...sicko!
Anyway I got a nice raise and they like my work and I like working for them....I'm SO happy!!!!

Just call me "Coach"

I can't believe it has been so long since my last post!
Some of you may know and some of you may not know that I have volunteered to be the coach for Kyanna's softball team. Tonight was our first practice and I have to admit I did not get a wink of sleep last night because I was so nervous about coaching the girls and having the parent's watch and judge me. So out I went tonight and I seriously had a blast it was amazing my throat is sore from cheering them on. Steve is so right if the parent's want to sit on the side lines and judge what I'm teaching their children I can always remind them that they are welcome to help out after all I am only volunteering no one said I was an expert.

So there's this little girl on the team and you know how there's one if every crowd........................

I'm SO gonna have to keep my eye's on this one, I don't think her parent's raised her right!!

Monday!

Ok I SERIOUSLY had a "Monday"!! Tonight Steve and I went and dropped Kyanna off at Sparks and while I was talking to the leader I noticed Steve's face was a little red and he was laughing.....as we broke away from the group I asked him what he was laughing at...and he told me he'd tell me later ...being a typical female (and having a feeling it was about me) I did not let it lie....and kept asking "what"......finally Steve gave in and told me to look down at my feet...................OMG!!!!!!

Happy Birthday!!!!

This week is a big Birthday week...........................
Happy Birthday to Tan and Jay
Happy Birthday to Shawna-rae-be

Happy Birthday to Grumps!!

Hooo Hummm Same Old Same Old

Well my life is officially boring, I seriously have nothing new or exciting going on. I'm training for my 60km walk by getting out and walking everyday today Steve, Kyanna and I went and walked Thetis Lake...apparently you can do "upper Thetis", "lower Thetis" or both we opted for lower Thetis which is about a 45 minute walk with Kyanna. I brought the camera along below are a few pictures from our trip.

This is what Thetis Lake looks like.

yup...just a picture of a mossy old tree...don't be picky...... in Alberta and Ontario they got nuttin but snow!!

A Water Lily of some sort...

Ummm...Steve's idea I leaned against a tree and took a picture looking up

One of my fav's the difference in height makes me laugh

Taken by Kyanna...awwww my little shutter bug...she did well....just ignore the finger in the corner!

Kyanna Lost Her Second Tooth!!

Kyanna has finally lost her second tooth on the bottom, let me tell you it's been a long time coming. It's been loose since December......when I accidentally ran over her with my crazy carpet and knocked it loose...but that's another tale for another time. This tooth got so loose that she could wiggle it from one end to the other. She even tried to tie dental floss to her tooth and then tie the other end to the steps of her bunk bed and pull....but she could not get the dental floss tied around her tooth. She figures the Tooth Fairy is bringing her a toy but I'm thinking the tooth fairy being a girl in a fancy dress and all wont be able to carry all those toys in her itty bitty pouch. What does the Tooth Fairy bring???? A Toonie and a pack of gum? A $5 dollar bill???

Below is a picture of Kyanna with 2 less teeth..her first one is already growing back

New Job!!

I've put in two days of work at my new job..........I've spent the last two days pulling charts, booking appointments and calling patients. Before I know it 2 p.m. has come and it's time for me to go...I LOVE IT. I'm still in the "honeymoon" phase and I'm sure It'll wear off...but it is definitely the change that I was looking for.

Goodbye PRA!!

Today was my last day with PRA.....My friends at PRA gave me a sweet goodbye with a little gathering in the kitchen with pastry and a prezzie. I received a wonderful card full of well wishes and encouragement along with a beautiful necklace with blue and green beads, from a local jewellery store called Artina's, it specializes in Canadian Handcrafted one-of-a-kind gold and silver jewellery by First Nations Artists as well as Contemporary Canadian Artists. Check out the website: http://www.artinas.com/ (you'll have to cut and paste...I'm still not that savvy with my blog...yet).

To those of my friends at PRA who read my blog I just want to say thank you for giving me the best last day a girl could have. I do know that I will miss working with you and seeing you everyday but I do hope to keep up the promise of seeing you on the "outside"...LOL

After my last day at PRA I was off to my new job where I had training to do and a new job to learn. The Dr's office I'm going to work for has a Travel Clinic as well as two Doctor's who specialize in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease. I work with one other girl her name is Tenille, we seem to get along just peachy keen.....she's a newfie...need I say more?

This Saturday is Steve and my 6th year anniversary, we went out tonight for dinner at Montana's and had Ribs and then to the movies....we saw Wild Hogs with **sigh** Johnny Travolta in it. If you saw the trailer for this on TV and thought to yourself......... hmmm I might like to see that.........OMG it was SO funny!!! We laughed our asses off and then just because we had a babysitter who we had to pay, we decided to get our money's worth and headed to the Casino.....Steve and I both have never been and wanted to check it out. We split a 20 and got 10 bucks each to play the slots...................We won about 13$ in total and spent it just as fast as we won it. We left once the credit's ran dry and Steve was bored..........not me I was waiting for my "cherry, cherry, cherry"..... I don't think we'll be going back anytime soon but it was something new and worth the experience.

PURSE THERAPY

So my friend Glenda has got this purse addiction.....it's seriously bordering therapy.....hmmm purse therapy.......could it get any better? Anywho from what I understand she's got a closet ......or two full of em. She's been on this big spring cleaning frenzy lately and has been giving away some of her purses and because I've got the "in" with her...you know being a whole 2 cubicles away and all...... I've managed to get two of her previously loved purses. I've posted pictures of them below.

This is the one I got on her first cleaning frenzy in January, I've been using it for months now and I still love it everytime I look at it.

This awesome blue beauty was adopted just 2 days ago she'll be my "spring" purse. I can't wait to move in!!!!

THANK YOU GLENDA!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!!!

OK, when I'm on my way to work and the bus I'm on is full I"m usually left standing. When a seat close to me becomes vacant I offer it to my closest "respective elder"........I've always considered this a good deed...a random act of kindness.....a sign that I was brought up properly....until it happened to me. Soooooo there I was on a full bus this morning and left standing, a seat a little bit in front of me became vacant and I did not move to occupy it because there was a younger girl in front of me (around 17ish) and I figured that since we were pretty much "equals" that she would just take the seat......Yaaaaaaaaa NO! Instead she turned around and offered me the seat and at first it took me a minute to actually understand that it was me she was offering the seat to because in my mind as I said before we were " equals". Once it sunk in that I am probably more then 10 years older then her and therefore her "respective elder". I thanked her graciously and took the seat which seemed to please her immensely..I on the other hand spent the rest of my 45 minute bus ride to work obsessing with the fact that I am now of an age where I can be offered "the vacant seat", called Ma'am and Mrs. Gilks.....Seriously???

Peep Sitting

Well I've made it thru 3.5 days of watching Susie-Q's birds. I've pasted pictures of them below.....unfortunately the cages are in the way .....trust me....that's the only way me and the peeps get along. Aside from the usual fare of seeds and fruit I've given the peeps toast with butter, mini quiche and half a Timmy's breakfast sandwich. I'm not sure if they liked the Timmy's sandwich but I guess I'll see when I get back tonight......who doesn't love Timmy's?

Below is Cowboy he's one of my favorites ( I think he's a momma's boy) he seems to be the only one that speaks he can say Hi and bub bye....Cowboy tells me bub bye when I'm coming and going.....ever get the feeling you don't belong?

Below is Violet she squawks at me for no apparent reason other then to hear her own voice....or she may just be telling what's what. She's pretty cute when she's facing forward she's got a beautiful purpleish/blue chest. She also likes to help change her food dishes by pushing them out or pulling them in.

This is Louie.....she's called Lu Lu. You know how there's one in every bunch.....well Lu Lu is the "one" in this bunch. She's the bossy boots of the roost. For the first few days when I was watching the peeps, everytime I'd go near Lu Lu's cage she'd do a fake dive bomb in my direction......made me jump a few times. After reminding myself that there's a cage between me and Lu Lu and...that I'm bigger...and the boss. I started telling her no and to be a good girl this makes her stop and stare at me.......I think she's watching and accessing my moves planning the ultimate attack.

Here is R2...... I'm sweet on him....not only because he wolf whistles at me in the mornings before I head to work (all though it does help.....ALOT) but because the poor guy is kept inline by Lu Lu......she sits in the cage next to him and and squawks if he...breaths in the wrong direction... she defiantly wears the pants in that relationship.

Last but by far least is Goliath, he's the biggest of them all...and the wimpiest.... he's Kyanna's favorite she changes his dishes for him and gives him lots of attention.....I'm not sure if he enjoys the attention he's been gettin....but it can't be all that bad he's still got all his feathers.

Our week in a nutshell!
On Monday Ian (Steve) and I decided to no longer sit on our cushy behinds and dwell about the insane weather but insted we decided to continue painting the house. We pulled the washer and dryer out from the laundry room (closet really) and removed the rotting linoleum. We found some ceramic tiles and grit left behind by the previous owners in our shed... and to our surprise there is more then enough to do the floor in the laundry room. Unfortunately that "fun" will have to wait as we do not own the special tool used for cutting ceramic tiles. We instead decided to just paint the laundry room... it is officially now a lovely tan color….a whole lot better then the nasty blue it was…sigh…I can now do my laundry with a smile…ish..seriously who smiles while doing laundry.

On Wednesday it was Mumsie's birthday,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUMSIE!

On Thursday Cindy Lou turned two! ... I could almost write a Dr. Suess book!

Friday.......

This week at Kyanna's school it was "school spirit" week, Monday was Crazy Hat day, Tuesday was Jersey day, Wednesday was Teddy Bear Picnic day (they brought a teddy bear), Thursday was Hippy day (wish I took a picture it was SO cute) and last but not least Friday was Crazy Hair day, below are the pictures of Kyanna's Crazy Hair.

CHRISTMAS

Christmas this year was insane aside from receiving a HUGE box of presents in the mail from a certain brother in-law and then my sister who I swear shopped all year, Kyanna was absolutely spoiled.

Here's a picture of Kyanna opening the only gift she asked for from Santa......the biggest my little petshop in the world.....It was a hard one to find, after searching all the stores in Victoria Santa had to order it from cold and icy Ft. McMurray.

Here's a picture of my sister and I on Christmas morning....yaaaahhh.... I"m still in my jammies....thanks for the photo OP big g.

Here's a picture of Kyanna opening some bath beads from Santa, she loves her bath beads.

Here's a picture of Kyanna digging under the tree looking for a present.....Seriously this cracks me up everytime I see it!
